Spring Break- Tybee Island, GA

It was time for the annual Scala/Wardwell spring break extravaganza!! This year we went down to Tybee Island, GA for a week of camping.

A stop off at Burger King and we were on the road.  Gross!

First stop at the beach

This sums them up perfectly

Chasing some shore birds

The Old Campsite

We had another bike train as we passed by the Tybee lighthouse.  We didn't get in our cars except one day when we went to Savannah.  The rest of the time we biked.

Ice Cream

Beach time.  Notice I snapped a pic of Emma throwing sand.

Emma and Alice on a cool morning

Boardwalks

Hunting for shells when the tide was out

Sand dollar

Grady found a turtle on one of his bike rides

On our last night we went to the Crab Shack.  A must if you visit Tybee

Shrimp Boil for all.

This is her scared face.  My favorite pic of the trip

You could feed the alligators they had in a moat

On a cooler day, we went to Savannah

The campground was more of an RV campground than a rustic campground.  It wasn't what we were use to but the kids had a blast.  They were able to ride their bikes all around by themselves and they loved the freedom....so did we.

The Rileys came to visit for a few nights.  They didn't have bikes so we had to be creative.  Eric pulled Amanda in the kid cart.

It was Eric's birthday so he went for a swim in the FREEZING cold ocean.

Insane.  It was so cold at dusk

Mike decided to join him on a birthday swim.  Josh opted out.

Scared faces

A few local brews were consumed

Melissa set up donuts for a birthday treat.

You had to eat them without using your hands

Ready. Set. GO.

Grown-up's turn

Eating it off the ground

Sachi and Pip were having a great time at home.  This is the pic our house sitter sent us.  Little Sachi all snuggled up.  It was a great trip and we look forward to new adventures next year.
