We Miss You Already

Gramma and Grandpa came up this weekend for Myles birthday. They usually come the weekend of the party but decided it would be less hectic if they came the week after. Great idea! Myles birthday was stretched for another weekend. The boys had so much fun playing with their grandparents. They sure are lucky little guys. Thank you, Shelley and Peter for making the trip up for Myles birthday. We all really appreciate it.

Notice the sweet Ghostbusters t-shirt Myles is sporting? Thanks Uncle Nick and Aunt Carolyn!

Gramma and her boys.

They gave Myles the coolest card. It was Yoda with a light saber that lit up and sung the Star Wars song. Grady was a little jealous, to say the least.

Of course, they came bearing gifts. Grady was very eager to help open presents.

Awesome sleeping bag, Gramma and Grandpa.

Can you tell they took the boys out for BBQ. The evidence was stuck all over Myles face.

On Sunday, we went to the Biltmore. The weather was perfect and we had to spend the day outside.

Grandpa was giving G a few lessons on horses as they watched the big draft horses in the pasture.

Super Myles

I can't believe how old G looks sometimes. He continues to be one of the most unique characters I have ever come across.

Myles spending some quality time with Gramma.

What a happy kid! "Swing me again...HIGHER"

Could my husband look more ridiculous?!

No More Stoppers!!

The day has finally come.....Myles is a "big boy" and does not need his stoppers (pacifiers). Yipee!! We have been telling him for months now that when he turns two his stoppers are going into the trash. He was well prepared for the big day. We decided to wait until the day after his birthday to discard of his precious "beeboos". It would be cruel to take them away on his birthday.

Boy am I happy. I was so sick of those things and hearing, "Mama, where's my beeboo?!!!" I was one of those parents that swore her children would never have a pacifier sticking out of their mouths. Ooops, both of my boys had them. I remember the day we brought Myles home. I was saying that I wouldn't give him a pacifier. Well, 1 am rolled around and I was searching the house for one of G's old ones. Anything to make that baby sleep!!

Two years later and we are still dealing with the much loved stopper. All has gone well so far. Nap time was a little rough but he is being a real trooper considering he has NEVER slept without it. Way to go, Myles.

Making the long walk to the trash can.

Giving the "beeboos" a last goodbye.

In they go, one by one. Myles wanted to throw them in himself.

Last stopper in!

We kept very busy, immediately getting on the swing.

Is he thinking about the stoppers?

Dad tested out the swing too.

Right after swinging, we drove to Toys R Us and let Myles pick out anything he wanted. He chose a set of baby dinosaurs. Much more suitable than a stopper.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Myles

Happy Birthday, Little Man!! I can't believe Myles is already 2 years old. He is such a funny kid and I can't imagine my life with out him. I love his willingness to snuggle with mom, his hero worship of Grady, his spunk and, of course, his grumpy little moods. What a character you are!!

We had a great party to celebrate his birthday. All of our good friends came over to party down. Luckily, we had perfect weather and could spend most of the time outside.

Everyone was singing Happy Birthday to Myles!
He isn't sure of the spotlight unlike his big bro.
Myles birthday cupcakes. Gramma Nancy and Grandpa Joseph gave the boys this excellent cupcake mix for Valentine's Day. I saved it for the party. They were delicious. Thank you!!

Blowing out his candle

Playing outside

Grady and Lilyanne

Our good buddy, Eric, is an arborist. Josh asked him to bring some equipment to hang a swing for the boys. You should see the swing he rigged up....it's sweet!

First ride on the swing

Checking out the swing. It's hung over a limb about 30 feet up so it swings out really far. Super fun for everyone!

Spring is Near

We have had some beautiful days recently. Just a little taste of Spring! I think it is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's all week. We have been taking advantage of the great weather.

We didn't do much this weekend but were able to spend some time outside. The boys are so much happier when they can RUN!!

We have had our share of cold Winter days. Staying in all day and trying to find things to do.

Myles likes to play marching band. Usually, it's a one man band but he doesn't seem to mind.

Saturday was a little colder, with weather in the 40's. I ran in the Black Mountain Valentines Day 5K. As you can see, Grady wanted to wear my number as soon as I finished the race.

We were able to wash the car and before I knew it, the boys had their pants off and were running around like it was 80 degrees.

Nice legs, Kid.

They did a little shrub trimming with their art scissors.

Gumbo got a bath and Myles gave him a little haircut.

Game Day

The day of the Super Bowl had arrived and the boys were all decked out in their game day jerseys (courtesy of Gramma and Grandpa). We had a beautiful 50 degree day, you could almost smell Spring in the air. We spent the day hanging out and took a trip to the park.

We didn't do anything for the game as the boys were asleep by halftime. Truth be told, I didn't watch a second of the game...not my thing. I curled up on the couch and watched "Toddlers and Tiaras" (I'm pretty embarrassed to admit that), taking advantage of watching girlie shows while Josh was otherwise occupied. Josh watched the game in our room. Unfortunately, Gramma's Steelers lost the game. Maybe next year!!

Hangin at Lake Tomahawk

I think they were watching the ducks.

He's getting too big :(

They are both getting too big!

Myles looks like he is ready for the game....game face on!

Grady can't resist making a silly face for the camera.

The day would not be complete without Grady doing something dangerous.
