A Few More....

Here are a few more photos from our winter vacation.

The walkway to the beach from the house. Beach front living is nice.

I could get use to this. A cup of coffee (or a glass of wine), a book and this view is perfection in my eyes.

I thought this was extra cute. Myles was singing to her. Its killing me that I can't post pics of her adorable face. I swear, she is one of the cutest babies ever (can say that because she isn't even mine. I'm not bragging at all).

We went out on the town for Will's birthday, Carolina Beach, that is. Mimi watched the kids and we took off. The pics aren't that great. Needless to say, I had a few drinks and was using my iPhone camera. Not a good combo.

Did I mention I had a few drinks?

Serpentarium and Aquarium

Wilmington has a lot to offer when it comes to kids. The boys favorites were the Serpentarium and the NC Aquarium. We stopped by the Serpentarium first as the boys are obsessed with snakes. It did not disappoint. The Serpentarium was filled with 100s of venomous snakes and constrictors from all over the world. King Cobras, bushmasters, rattlesnakes, mambas, you name it, they had it. All of the cages had pad locks on them and thank goodness they did. Josh spotted one cage that was open.....I have to say, we were a little freaked out. I'm sure they were just cleaning the cage but.......

Next we ventured to the Aquarium. Touch tanks, scuba divers and alligators, oh my.

Kure Beach

We were fortunate, once again, to be able to use my mom's friend's beach house on Kure Beach. It doesn't usually have many renters in February so we took advantage of its vacancy. Mom and Will met us down there for some good ole family time. We were also able to celebrate Myles and Will's birthdays.

Winter Weekends

We haven't been doing anything special over the past few weekends. Just hanging out together, mostly around the house. The temperature has dropped and it actually feels like winter in the mountains. We have stayed snug by spending time inside by the wood stove. There is still no shortage of action in the Scala household.... bow and arrow fights, wrestling, camping (inside) and plain ole "boys being boys". I have to admit, it's pretty fun to watch.

The boys really wanted to go camping. So, we set up the tent in the living room. They put on their shorts and short sleeves and pretended it was camping season.
