Some extras

I always have random photos on my phone so here goes.

The boys went to vacation bible school last week.  The director was nice enough to give Emma a shirt too even though she was too young to attend.

Our garden is doing really well this year.  Emma was helping me bring some lettuce into the house

We helped a friend of mine and watched her son while she ran to the dr.  Myles was so sweet the little guy.  I think having a younger sibling has helped him tremendously.

Other people's toys are always way better

Last week I was attacked by a groundhog at work.  Not many people can say that.....

Blueberry Pickin'

It's blueberry time in the mountains of NC.  The kids and I headed down the mountain to Old Fort, only a few miles east of Black Mountain.  A friend of mine told me about a sweet old couple that owned a farm and allowed people to pick blueberries from their many bushes.  We paid $8 for a gallon of delicious berries.  I thought that was quite a deal.  

She wanted to pick berries for about 30 seconds then she was over it.

PirateLand

We got our first full dose of real RV "camping" a few weeks ago.  Josh and I had heard about an RV campground just south of Myrtle Beach and wanted to check it out.  Luckily, they had a few spots left.  We rolled into PirateLand and the boys were in heaven.  I wasn't sure at first....it looked like a third world country, dirt roads, RV packed in all over and rednecks galore.  Then I noticed the huge pool, indoor pool, water park, lazy river, arcade, bike riding, and our site was a few blocks from the ocean.  I felt comfortable letting the boys ride their bikes all over.  We even sent them to the camp store to grab a few things.  They were so excited about that "grown up" adventure.  While I don't really consider it camping, we did have a great time hanging at the RV campground.

I mentioned the arcade.  The boys begged to come here every night.  Myles was so excited that he forgot to take his helmet off.

While they stayed up late every night, they slept in every morning.

Third world

What we didn't know was that everyone at the campground had a golf cart.  AND every night there was a golf cart parade.  The boys pestered us to rent one so the last day we caved.

One must always decorate the golf cart to be in the parade.  We looked around the camper for some decoration and guess what I found?! A box of decorations from our wedding.  Our wedding was the day after Cinco De Mayo so we had a party with that theme.  I had stored the decorations in the RV.  They came in handy and the South of the Border Scalas hit the road.

Josh found a Maryland crab restaurant which we tried out. Other than leaving to get some seafood, we pretty much stayed at the campground.  There was so much to do it was pointless to leave.  

Uncle Will

Uncle Will and Leia came down to visit us for the 4th of July.  They were on their way down to Charleston for a wedding so they made a stop in Black Mountain.  Due to the tiny house, we had to roll up the rv...nothing but class here.  They were troopers and didn't mind too much.  It didn't help that right before they arrived Emma jumped on the camper bed, took off her shorts and peed on it.  I was in tears, seriously.  The joys of a two year old.  After washing copious amounts of laundry, Uncle Will and Leia had a clean bed to sleep in.  

We showed them around town and went into Asheville.  I think they got a pretty good sense of the area.

We went to the fireworks display in Black Mountain later that night.  I wish I could have taken a photo of Emma's face.  She was delighted to say the least.

We also showed them around the Biltmore Estate. This photo was taken right before Emma "killed" a flower.  She touched a rose and it fell to pieces.  She freaked out and yelled that she "killed" it.  She cried for a good two minutes which is very unlike her.  

I think Uncle Will and Leia got a good does of birth control after hanging out with these three.  They won't have kids for years!!
