Myles' 10th Birthday

Myles has reached the double digits!  Happy 10th Birthday, to my baby boy.  The poor introvert in a family of extroverts.  We love your creativity and quiet nature.  You are courageous and don't mind dancing to the beat of your own drum (plus, you are one heck of a dancer).  A leader in class and a good friend to classmates.  You are your brother's best friend and your sisters guardian.  You make me slow down and be more reflective in life.  I love you more than you will ever know.

Myles' birthday morning before school

You can't tell but he is happy :)

You kindly let Emma help you open your presents.

I love that you are still into dinosaurs.

You wanted Emmett, your best bud, to spend the night on your birthday.

Then it was on to the big party at Play Station

Myles requested a donut cake.  A boy after my own heart!

There were video games.....

Pizza....

Friends......

He really is beautiful

Emmett knows him well and got him "Butt Wipes" for camping.

This might be my favorite picture of Myles ever!!

Emery gave him $10 in pennies.

Bumper cars and go carts

Josh took Emma to the movies for most of the party but she came at the end and played some games.

Skiing

When Josh and I met, we were both avid skier/snowboarders.  We would hit the slopes every chance we got.  Then we had kids.  We haven't gone since the kids were born.  This year we figured they were all old enough to try skiing.  Mimi and Papaw gave us a ski trip for Christmas which was perfect.
We went up to Sugar Mountain, NC for a long weekend.  The conditions were great.  It was even snowing while we were up there.

Getting ready to hit the slopes

Waiting and trying to be patient while the boys were getting fitted for rental skis

After a few runs.  Emma didn't last long.  She went to ski school for an hours, had lunch, did one run and was finished.  I will say her one and only run was frightening.  She got away from me, when flying down the mountain in a crouched ball, flew off the side of the run, under a plastic fence and crashed under the ski lift.  My heart was racing!  When I finally got to her she was crying, then asked, "did I ski?"  Ummm, yes.

The boys had better luck with skiing.

By the end of the day, they were going down the mountain without falling.

Myles coming in hot.

They enjoyed their time and can't wait to go  again.

Emma took this photo of the ski condo we rented.  It was a great  place to stay.  I think the kids enjoyed the indoor pool as much as they did the skiing.
