When Josh and I met, we were both avid skier/snowboarders. We would hit the slopes every chance we got. Then we had kids. We haven't gone since the kids were born. This year we figured they were all old enough to try skiing. Mimi and Papaw gave us a ski trip for Christmas which was perfect.
We went up to Sugar Mountain, NC for a long weekend. The conditions were great. It was even snowing while we were up there.
Getting ready to hit the slopes
Waiting and trying to be patient while the boys were getting fitted for rental skis
After a few runs. Emma didn't last long. She went to ski school for an hours, had lunch, did one run and was finished. I will say her one and only run was frightening. She got away from me, when flying down the mountain in a crouched ball, flew off the side of the run, under a plastic fence and crashed under the ski lift. My heart was racing! When I finally got to her she was crying, then asked, "did I ski?" Ummm, yes.
The boys had better luck with skiing.
By the end of the day, they were going down the mountain without falling.
Myles coming in hot.
They enjoyed their time and can't wait to go again.
Emma took this photo of the ski condo we rented. It was a great place to stay. I think the kids enjoyed the indoor pool as much as they did the skiing.
