The House

To most people this wouldn't look too exciting.  If you live in 400 square feet, this is a dream come true.  Our house has started!!!  The week that the grader came out to start we got over a foot of snow, then it rained and the new basement flooded.  Josh is stressing bullets.  The walls of the basement are up and the floor has been put on.  Things are really happening.

Jolly Green Giant

Emma was being too quiet so I checked on her.  NOT IN TIME.  She had found the boys pinewood derby wood paint in a bag.  It was sealed in "child proof" wrap.  She found the green and painted herself, the floor and the dresser.  I was so, so, so mad.  I almost cried.  

Luckily, my mom was visiting.  I handed Emma to my mom and she washed her while I scrubbed the floor.  I managed to take a few photos before totally freaking out.

Pinewood Derby

The boys started Boy Scouts a few months ago and have been enjoying it so far.  Last week was the annual Pinewood Derby.  The boys didn't get too excited about their cars until they started racing them.  I think next year they are going to try a little harder.

Myles finished product, Darth Gator.  Not the fastest but definitely the coolest and most creative.

Grady's car, Speedy Devil.  The race was at a church and when I said the name, "Speedy Devil" some rude woman said, "nice name for a church event".  Jerk.

Apparently there are rules for the derby.  If you know me well, you know that I don't really look at instructions.  Parenting fail.  The cars are supposed to weigh 5 oz to race.  I had to run to the car, grab quarters and strap them on with bandaids.  It's all I had.  

Luckily, the boys thought it was funny.

Happy 7th Myles

I haven't posted anything forever.  I washed my cell phone and lost most of my recent photos.  I have a new phone just in time for Myles 7th birthday.  Being the middle child, I wanted Myles to have an awesome birthday.  I feel as if he gets overshadowed by the ever talkative Grady and insane Emma.  We made the day super special and even gave him Saturday as his "Myles Day".  

The greatest thing was that Mimi was in town!  She helped me pick out presents and take Myles to Fun Depot.  Thanks for being here, Mimi. 

My amazing 7 year old.  I never quite know what you are thinking but you are turning into a super cool person.  His teacher recently described him as "a natural leader with a great sense of humor".  Can't ask for more than that!
