Apples and Fairs

Fall is in the air!!  Fall in the mountains of Western Carolina means apples and the Mtn State Fair.  We went to Granddad's Apples in Hendersonville to pick some apples and get some apple treats (donuts, turnovers and slushies).  There is nothing like an apple straight from the tree.  We each eat an apple a day so the two bags of apples we purchased were gone within the week. 

The following weekend we ventured out to the Mountain State Fair.  You never know what you are going to see at the fair.  The people watching is out of this world, the animals are amazing and the rides are sketchy.  Just as a state fair should be. 

It is still pretty warm around here but I can feel fall slowly creeping in.  We are ready for her to visit.

OE Picnic

The boys started school and so did I.  My masters program is in full swing.  This week we had a picnic for my department.  They opened up the climbing tower much to the boys delight.  The boys were fearless as usual and climbed like monkeys.

Back To School

I cannot believe it is that time again.  Where did the summer go?  Where has this year gone?  Grady started 1st grade and Myles is in Pre K.  Neither of them were very excited to get back into school.  Once Myles started, he loved it.  Whew, what a breath of fresh air.  He walked right into his classroom, ready to go.  He has enjoyed it so far and is always eager to head to class.  Grady on the other hand, has been struggling.  He says school is boring and that they don't get to play anymore.  He complains about going on a daily basis.  Such a change from last year.  I hope things get better as we get into the swing of things.
