The boys started Boy Scouts a few months ago and have been enjoying it so far. Last week was the annual Pinewood Derby. The boys didn't get too excited about their cars until they started racing them. I think next year they are going to try a little harder.
They started building the cars during their meetings
They did a lot of work by themselves
Myles finished product, Darth Gator. Not the fastest but definitely the coolest and most creative.
Grady's car, Speedy Devil. The race was at a church and when I said the name, "Speedy Devil" some rude woman said, "nice name for a church event". Jerk.
Apparently there are rules for the derby. If you know me well, you know that I don't really look at instructions. Parenting fail. The cars are supposed to weigh 5 oz to race. I had to run to the car, grab quarters and strap them on with bandaids. It's all I had.
Luckily, the boys thought it was funny.
All the racers

Having fun with the big cars
Ready. Set. Go.
Em concentrated on her own race
Pack 50
Looks like I won Grady an award. "Most Creative Adhesives".
Myles won "Most Creative Overall".
