No More Stoppers!!

The day has finally come.....Myles is a "big boy" and does not need his stoppers (pacifiers). Yipee!! We have been telling him for months now that when he turns two his stoppers are going into the trash. He was well prepared for the big day. We decided to wait until the day after his birthday to discard of his precious "beeboos". It would be cruel to take them away on his birthday.

Boy am I happy. I was so sick of those things and hearing, "Mama, where's my beeboo?!!!" I was one of those parents that swore her children would never have a pacifier sticking out of their mouths. Ooops, both of my boys had them. I remember the day we brought Myles home. I was saying that I wouldn't give him a pacifier. Well, 1 am rolled around and I was searching the house for one of G's old ones. Anything to make that baby sleep!!

Two years later and we are still dealing with the much loved stopper. All has gone well so far. Nap time was a little rough but he is being a real trooper considering he has NEVER slept without it. Way to go, Myles.

Making the long walk to the trash can.

Giving the "beeboos" a last goodbye.

In they go, one by one. Myles wanted to throw them in himself.

Last stopper in!

We kept very busy, immediately getting on the swing.

Is he thinking about the stoppers?

Dad tested out the swing too.

Right after swinging, we drove to Toys R Us and let Myles pick out anything he wanted. He chose a set of baby dinosaurs. Much more suitable than a stopper.

  2. I'm glad it went well. I'm hopeful now :). I too said no paci's, but that first not home I was rushing to find the one's you had given me! Hopefully our transition is as smooth as yours.
