This month has brought lot of school projects as the kids head towards the last few months of school. Here are a few things they have been working on.

Grady had to do a big project in history. They picked an event, researched it, wrote a diary and completed a tangible project. His subject was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. We both learned a lot about the fire and the time period in which it occurred. It was the first school assignment that Grady really enjoyed.
Myles participated in the Heroes of Asheville. The 3rd graders chose a local hero, interviewed them, created a poster with timeline and made a monument to honor them.
Myles chose a woman who was trying to build bridges between the US and African cultures. She was born in Africa and came to the US as a teen. She runs a non-profit that teaches people about Africa and then takes them to visit.

Their school had an adventure day where students could participate in all different outdoor adventure sports. They chose mountain biking while other students did rock climbing, ropes course, etc.
The festival atmosphere brought all sorts of vendors. Dr. Bronner's foam tank was their favorite.
Their school is pretty awesome!
and this little stink will be heading that way next year. At the preschool book fair she chose this book, Dangerous Animals. It was funny to watch all the other girls pick books about fairies and princesses. Not my hot mess. It's Dangerous Animals for her. LOVE!!
Emma had Dr Seuss Day at school. She wanted to dress up as a fire fighter. I asked if there was a fire fighter in a Dr Seuss book. She said no but that what she wanted to be. She is her own person.
For my birthday, Myles made me a ceramic donut. He knows I love them!
