Homeschooling looks different for each family that goes this route. Although it's not always easy, we make the best of it and try to stay busy. This winter we have gone on all kinds of learning adventures. Not all education has to be in a classroom setting.
One of our first experiences this winter was going to Arms around ASD to meet a farmer. He came with all sorts of animals that we were able to play with.
Emma loved the baby rats
There was a mini pig that was a big hit too.
Several chickens
And lastly were a few snakes.
Although, she says sharks are her spirit animal, Emma LOVES snakes.
This is how we roll up to most places.
Learning with bubbles
We made a trip to the Asheville Museum of Science. It's pretty small, but they had a cool water exhibit that Em loved.
How do we make visiting a cat rescue into education? Well, we managed it just fine.
The House of Black Cat Magic was awesome.
All these cute black cats need homes but for now they get to hang out at this incredible rescue.
We've done several hikes this winter.
One can always learn on a riverbank
We visited a Gem Mine in Hendersonville for a lesson on geology.
We got to sort through rocks and collect what we found.
Sometimes there are very lazy days.
Another hike. This time while wearing super high heels
Go figure, this one didn't last too long.
Lots of time at the dog park.
