Holy Cow!! The time has come!! Emma is joining the rest of the kids at Evergreen for Kindergarten. I can't say I shed a tear but gave her teacher a high five and whispered "good luck" under my breath. Haha! No really, she was ready and excited to head to school.
On the first day, I asked her if she wanted me to walk her into her classroom (she always has an opinion). She said, "NO! I am a big kid and I can walk by myself". She didn't even want the boys to escort her to her room. She was determined to do it alone. I have never in my life met a more independent, fearless child. Maybe that's why we butt heads so much. I was a little nervous just letting her out of the car but Grady watched her walk into her classroom and made sure she was ok. All went well and she is loving it.
The first real day of school
She chose the outfit. I'm pretty sure nothing she is wearing is the same color or matches but there was lots of glitter and sparkles.
Her teacher is wonderful! She sent me these photos on the first day.
Josh took her out to dinner for the first day of school
Evergreen has the cutest program called Kinderbuddies. They pair 6th graders up with Kindergartners and they read together. All of Grady's friends wanted to be Emma's kinderbuddy. She ended up with Gaelen and Bridges, two of her favorites.
Some of the things I won't miss while having her home...
She can make a mess like no other
Before I noticed, she had squeezed glue on her head, then added copious amount of glitter to her hair and finished it off with colorful paper
Playing PJ masks
I have to save Sachi's life on an hourly basis
She gets bored pretty fast
Sometimes Pip is her target
I would bet this child will have a tattoo at age 18.
She's a mess and one of the most powerful beings on the planet.....maybe the universe.
