Accident Prone

It was round two at the ER for Emma.  This time she was swinging in a tree and tried to jump off onto a rock.  The rock won.  Unfortunately, it happened in the car rider line while they were waiting for the middle schoolers to get out of school.  I wasn't there but Kirsten and other parents helped out.  I was driving home from work at the time and picked her up on their way back to Black Mountain.  She was more scared than hurt.  We went to the urgent care and they sent us to the ER.
Luckily, my friend Melissa, was working in the ER and hooked us up with a private room.

Waiting for the doctor

After one round of cleaning out the cut. The Dr had to clean it out with a syringe full of saline.  Emma hated it so the doctor gave her a full syringe too.  Guess what she did with it??? Squirted the doc in the face.  She doesn't mess around and that Dr was insane to give her a syringe.

The doctor said, "we will put a pretty bow on it".  Emma replied, "You mean a stitch?"
The doctor said, "a sutuer".  Emma replied, "You mean a stitch?"  You can't trick this girl.

It needed 3 stitches.

We were waiting for a sedative to arrive so they could stitch her up.

She was given a sedative....it did nothing!  Nothing.

She refused stitches and they ended up gluing it shut.

After 5 hrs in the ER, here she is telling us to "come on".

The next morning

What a mess!!!

When we left the ER, Emma said, "bye hospital, see ya next time".  Ummm, not what I wanted to hear but she might be right.
