As usual, we scheduled a trip to see my folks in Virginia. Summer can feel super long to me, so this broke up the time and gave us something to do. We flew again this year which makes traveling so much easier. We didn't do too much but it was nice to get away and visit with Mimi and Papaw.
I spotted Josh's grocery list before we left. Can you say Bachelor Week?!
Heading to BWI
The first night there, I went down to DC to visit with Will and Leia. Mimi and Papaw watched the kids so I could stay downtown. We ate Ethiopian and Will orders some fermented honey wine. Smelled like old socks but tasted ok
Of course, I took the kids to DC which I have vowed never to do again with Emma. She just sprinted all over the place while I tried to catch her. Brutal
Speaking of Emma, she loves some mud
Much to the horror of my parents neighbors, she played in the hole that straddles their property line. This made the mud hole gigantic. Papaw later had to fix it with top soil. We bring chaos.....
Grady's favorite part is getting to eat all the foods that I don't normally allow them to eat. Eggos.....yuck
My mom asked me to go through my closet years ago. I finally got to it this time. Check out my wallet from childhood. Still had a dollar in it!
I had saved all my notes from 7th to 12th grade. They were hilarious to read.
Mimi entertained the monkeys while I cleaned
I also found a Chinese jump rope (unopened), bracelets making stuff (beads and string), my prom dresses and pencil collection (which Myles took)
Papaw took the boys out to the woods
They helped him get the property ready for hunting season
Thanks, Papaw, for the adventure. They are still talking about your chainsaw skills!
Will and Leia took the boys for a night. I dropped them in DC and they spent the night. Will and Leia took them to an Escape Room which they LOVED. They have been begging to go to one here in Asheville ever since. It was definently a highlight of the trip.
