Our summer adventure, trip or "vacation" (I use that term lightly), was all about heading up North. My Brother was getting married in the Adirondacks, a place that we have never been, so we made a 2 week road trip out of the wedding. We left on the 4th of July, pulling out with camper in tow and began our 15 or so hour drive to NY.
Leaving the house.
We broke the trip up into two days. Our first stop was somewhere in Pennsylvania. The next day, we made it to the Adirondacks and Limekiln State Park. This is a view of Limekiln Lake from the campground. We stayed here one night before moving to the Inn
Surprisingly, the water wasn't too cold
That night we went to the Inn where the wedding was being held. Mimi and Papaw were staying there so we went to have dinner with them.
Not sure why they had a massive plastic alligator?
This isn't a great photo but this is the Inn where they were married
We explored the town of Inlet
It was very small but adorable
My favorite sign
The morning before the wedding, we rented Kayaks and explored the lake
The boys loved it
Emma sat on my lap in the two person kayak, while Josh paddled. He might have been steering but she was definitely the captain.
We stopped to swim for a bit
Back in Inlet for lunch. My southern kids couldn't handle the cooler temps. Just look at these babies.
That night we were staying at the Inn in a Glamping tent. It was cheaper than an room and we had more space. Plus we could pull the camper up close.
The inside
The boys slept in the bed with me, while Josh and Em stayed in the camper
Mimi and Papaw took the kids out for ice cream.
The wedding day arrived and we were ready to go.
Duffy and Doug made the long trip to NY
Attempting to get a pic...a large head in the way
photo bombed
and again....
Myles, our photographer, took his own pics while the professionals were at work
The Ceremony
Emma was ready to dance
First dance
Emma was excited to be "fancy"
Dancing with Rob
Lets hope that was sparkling cider.....
Stay tuned for the rest of the journey.......
