Fabulous and Forty ~ Key West

Eight years....It has been 8 years since my high school friends and I have gotten together.  We have had children, changed jobs, started businesses, and pretty much...life got in the way.  In honor of turing 40 this year, we made a trip happen.  It was so amazing to catch up and just laugh.  I laughed for 5 days straight.  It was so good for the soul.
I can't wait to see them again.  Before we left we decided that there is no way we would wait another 8 years.  Here's to a fabulous LBSS girls weekend in two years.

The Key West airport.  What a strange statue of Americans and Cubans sitting on top of the entrance.

The first thing I noticed about Key West were the roosters walking all around town

TK, Jenny and I were the first to arrive and the drinks started flowing

Laura arrived!

Obsessed with selfies

We found mile 0

Lara and Blythe joined in and the gang was complete!

First bar

We spent a lot of time at the pool in our backyard

Little did we know, it was Hemingway weekend in Key West.  There were look-a-likes everywhere, all trying to win the big Hemingway contest.

There were no shortage of beautiful boats

or weird statues

In true Key West fashion, we found a drag show!!

This was by far, our favorite performer

Someone had a pug in a Hawaiian shirt, and handed it to the lady

It was hilarious.  Not sure what the pug thought

Daysia was by far, the worst...

TK

Show me the money

Selfie in the mirror

On the way home we ran into this outside a bar.  What?!  We were all a little confused

I think I had fish tacos at least 5 times

We saw a manatee

Laura bought a fanny pack.  No prof, they are not ok

The sponge man

Postcard

Running of the "bulls" with the Hemingways

We took a cruise, "Rum and Reggae"

Capt. Anna

I took this pic for Josh because Capt Anna is pretty much his dream girl

Boat shenanigans

Getting ready to snorkel

We are professionals

More fun with statues

Not sure what was happening

We rented an electric car and cruised around the island

Passing by the southern most point in the US.

What a waste of space.  You should have seen the line to take a picture with this stupid thing

Blythe and Lara

The grand tour

More time at the pool

We found a "clothing optional" bar.  No, we did not enter

More pics of the booze cruise

With Capt Anna

Last dinner

Funny story about this rooster.... We made Jenny go over and take a pic with it.  Right after she walked away, the entire thing fell over and crashed to the ground.  Hilarious

Lara and Teresa

Last drink of the trip before we left for the airport.  I miss you ladies fiercely but know we will do it again soon.
