Spartan Race

Last month, Josh and I ran a Spartan Race.  I've been wanting to do one for a long time and lucky for us, Black Mountain hosted one.  We were able to drive 5 mins from our house and join the 8 thousand folks other folks competing.  Josh and I asked our friends, Lindsay and her sister, Jennifer to run with us on our team.  We raced 8.5 miles through farmland and up to the rock quarry.  We competed 29 obstacles such as scaling walls, carrying heavy loads, climbing ropes and splashing through mud pits.  This sounds crazy but it was SO much fun!  We have signed up for another one in April.

Josh, preparing for the race....

A before photo.  Look how clean we were.

This was one of the last obstacles in the race.

Just crawling under barbed wire....no big deal.

Lindsay looks much tougher.

You had to fill a five gallon bucket with gravel and carry it.

Here I come....

More mud....

To compete the race, you had to jump over a fire pit

Finishers!!

We can't wait for the next race.
