This was one of our favorite trips of all time. We started off landing in Pheonix and getting in the rental car, heading up to Sedona. From there, we went to the Grand Canyon. Followed by Page and Lake Powell. It was a great route and we were able to see a lot of Arizona in a week.
Like father, like son. I have no idea how these guys pass out before the plane takes off.
Emma and I were up for the duration.
Passed out.
Our first stop on the way to Sedona was Jerome, AZ
It's a quirky town known for harboring ghosts.
Emma is into ghost hunting, so of course, we had to go find a few.
I'm not sure if we found any ghosts but we did see some skeletons
And ate at the Haunted Hamburger
It was a fun town to walk around
Then we got to our Airbnb in Sedona which was the nicest Airbnb we have ever been to
Comeplete with a pool
Sedona was beautiful and the town was weird
The fam regularly checked the yard at the airbnb for snakes and creepies.
No luck
There was a lot of time spent in the pool
Lizards
Emma was super grumpy because she didn't want to eat at this restaurant
We checked out the Tlaquepaque Shopping area
It was pretty but we aren't super into shopping
The sun rise was amazing
Lots of hot air balloons in the morning
An interesting home decoration
Josh and I sat through a super long talk about time shares. In exchange for our time, the boys got to rent a side by side for free. LOL
I think this was their favorite part of the trip
We took a drive to see the Chapel of the Holy Cross
The weather in the desert is crazy
Just eating Chipote in the pool
We left Sedona and went to Flagstaff on the way to the Grand Canyon. We found an awesome bagel shop
The Grand Canyon
I thought it was hilarious that all these tourists were taking photos of a squirrel
Ok, it was pretty cute
All of a sudden, a big-horned sheep came running by us
We stayed in a kind of crappy lodge but there were elk around so that made up for it
One night was plenty at the Grand Canyon. We saw what we wanted to check out and took off.
On the way to Page, we stopped off at Horseshoe Bend
It was about 105 degrees and the hike nearly killed Grady. He made it but wasn't happy.
Next we met our tour guides for a hike into Canyon X.
I did a lot of research into what canyon to check out. Most people go to Antelope Canyon. It's super crowded and had pretty bad reviews because of this. We chose Canyon X because it was less crowded with a very similar experience.
The canyon is on Navajo land and can only be accessed by going through the tribe.
My iPhone photos don't do it justice.
Our final stop was Page, AZ on Lake Powell
It was such a cool lake
We drove into Utah just to visit another state. It was a few miles up from Page. We found another beach on Lake Powell.
We checked out Glen Canyon Dam and the Visitor Center there.
On the way back to Phoenix, we stopped by Montezuma Castle National Monument.
We stayed one night in Pheonix and checked out the city before flying out.
