Homeschool Transition

This was school for Emma last year.  Her teacher sent me these photos.  She was unhappy and incredibly overwhelmed.  Completely dysregulated.  This was not healthy.

She drew a picture of "Autism"

A meltdown on the 3rd day of school

This is me hiding during parent orientation where we had to "pair share" with other parents.  I went to the car and hid.

So we made the huge decision to homeschool Emma.  This is what school looks like for her now.  It's not traditional but her mental health is the most important thing.

We do school work at the lake, not at a desk.

We make cakes to learn fractions

Math on the playground

Graphs with Pip

Class with kittens

We talked about objects in motion while playing in the creeks

Poetry on the swings

Emma can be herself

Traditional school settings are not for everyone

She made a dog cake for the pups

Of course, Hank ate most of it
