We haven't been up to Boone for awhile now and we haven't checked out the Grandfather Mountain Highland Game since we had kids. It was time to head up the mountain. We hit Tweetsie Railroad for a cowboy adventure. The boys are getting a little old for the park but they still enjoyed themselves. Emma loved every minute.
Checking out the fake horses
Josh and Em take a car for a spin
In 3 years, this kid will actually have a learners permit.
Myles was ready to roll out
Em actually liked the rides this time. Usually she says they hurt her belly.
She even rode this big one with the boys.
Getting ready for the weirdest ride of all.....
The mouse train!
The train stops in a strange, colorful, smelly tunnel where mice are singing.
The Tennessee Tornado
If you can, zoom up on Myles happy face. It's adorable.
Of course, we visited the Tweestie Jail
We went back to our favorite campground in Boone, the Honey Bear.
Chillin at the site
We went to the Highland Games which as kind of a disaster. It was hot, crowded and super expensive. We could hardly see the games. So later that night, the boys and I went back for music at the games. It wasn't crowded at all and we had a blast. Emma and Josh stayed at the campground.
I'm pretty sure we won't be back next year.
