This year, on our annual summer trip to VA, we took a plane instead of driving. I found an amazing deal on Allegiant which made it worth while. The boys hadn't been on a plane since they were babies and Emma had never flown. I was a little nervous flying solo with all three kids but it was great. No problems at all.
About to take off
Emma wore headphones on the flight home so she could play games on my phone. She was talking super loud because they were over her ears. I'm pretty sure some people were annoyed. When we started our initial decent, she asked what was happening. I told her that we were going down. She said in a super loud voice, "WHAT? WE ARE GOING TO CRASH? BOOM!". I'm pretty sure she freaked a few folks out.
Poor Mimi! She's had a really rough summer. She had been home from the hospital for about 3 weeks when we arrived. Unfortunately, the day after we arrived she ended up being rushed to the ER and admitted to the hospital. She had a raging infection in her surgery site. She was in the hospital for 5 days while we were there. We came to visit a few times.
When she came home, Nurse Emma was ready for action. She's one sassy nurse
Mimi and Papaw also installed a chair that can take Mimi up the stairs. It was a huge hit with the kids
Of course there was playing in the garden
Isn't she beautiful?
Kindred Spirits
These two are so alike. Both full of light and joy
Papaw kept Emma entertained
Watching Mimi get an IV
Emma wanted milk in a wine glass
Uncle Will and Leia took the kids to Burke Lake Park
She smuggled a sugar packet into the car. She's always up to something
I took the kids to the Air and Space Museum
Em decorated my hair and took this pic. We spent a lot of time among the flowers
Papaw took the boys out to the farm to ride the ATV. I think they spent a little too much time in the car....hence the sharpe mustache.
Just look at these two
My Dad. He was such a devoted caregiver to my mom this summer. I love him more than words can say. He's a great role model for my boys. Selfless, kind, honest and reliable.
