This year we made the journey up to Pittsburgh to visit Josh's mom and Peter. Shelley cooked an awesome meal and we all ate way too much. Josh's grandparents, brother and his family came to the feast as well. The boys had a blast playing with their cousins. They all got along so well. Gramma and Grandpa gave the kids their Christmas presents as well so they were thrilled. Thank you, Shelley and Peter for everything. It was a wonderful holiday.
Our first stop in Pittsburgh was to the National Aviary. We try to go there every time we are in the city. It's an awesome place for kids to get close and personal with birds of all kinds.
There were even some bats
Feeding the Lorekeets
It was pretty cold the whole time we were there but the kids managed to get out a little bit.
Catching snowflakes
This was a rare moment caught on camera. They were all sitting down and coloring. Most of the time they were running around screaming.
Our next stop was the Carnegie Natural History Museum. Emma tried her hand at digging for dinosaur bones.
The boys in the Native American exhibit
Shelley and Peter had an ice skating rink close to their house. The boys were able to ice skate for the first time.
They both did a pretty good job
Our last stop was to Uncle Greg and Aunt Laura's house. Laura cooked a huge Italian meal and Greg manned the bar. We ate and drank way too much.
Look who also did some bar tending
The kids were so happy that Poppy was there. Even Grady slowed down to snuggle with him.
Emma got some Poppy time as well.
