Last weekend marked our first camping trip of the season. We went to Cascade Lake near Brevard, NC. It was a great campground complete with two lakes, one for boating and one for swimming. The boys can't wait for our next camping trip (and neither can we).
Checking out the big lake
Look who else liked the lake....Gumbo.
Getting ready to take a dip near Hooker Falls in Dupont State Forest.
Check out our massive tent. I swear it weighs 50 lbs. Long gone are the days of our small two man tent.
We took several canoe trips.
Man, was he happy.
I think the marshmallows were Myles favorite part. Here he is waiting for a delicious gooey treat.
Poor Grady sustained an injury as we were about to leave the campsite. I was in the bathroom, the boys were in the truck with Josh as he drove to pick me up. Grady decided that it would be a great idea to throw a tie-down strap out the window to "go fishing". It got caught in the back tire and gave him some wicked rope burn. It looked awful but he was a trooper. I don't think we will have any more fishing from trucks in the future.
